Sportster — (ET Bracket Racing Format – 500 Full Tree)
Open to ALL Sportster V-Twin Motorcycles.   This Sportster Class is open to all year model Sportsters and all configurations of Sportster Street Bikes, Buell and Drag Bikes. The class is run on 1/8 mile drag strips.  The Sportster Class is designed to give Sportster Racers a completely separate class to run against each other in an even racing field.


Format:
The Sportster Class is an E.T. Bracket Class run on a .500 Full Tree. It will be an all run field and will qualify for eliminations based on your time during the second round of qualifying.

Designation:    S/P  followed by rider number.

General:
A rider may only enter one bike in this class, and that bike may only be entered one time in this class.

Sportster ET Qualifying
All entries in the Sportster Class will run round one and two of qualifying on a random pairing basis. After Round Two an elimination ladder will be produced and beginning with round three. This will be based on the riders reaction times from round two.

Points / Entry Fees / Payouts:
Rider & Bike is included in the Entry Fee.   Awards At Present = 1st Round Top Qualifier, 3rd Round Top Qualifier   **** Trophies and Payout to the – Winner – Runner Up – Semi.

Points:
The Sportster Class will be a Points Class at all CTMDR Events except The ALL Star Race. The Sportster Class is a Points-Earning Class and at the end of the season a Champion will be crowned. Riders it is your responsibility to monitor and make sure points awarded to you are correct after every event. All requests for points adjustments must be made in writing to sonny@sonnyproductions.com within thirty days of the points posting for the event in question. Give us an accurate description on your concerns.

Please understand CTMDR will strive to keep the points tabulations for all classes accurate and correct and we hope by you monitoring your own points earnings, any errors we have made will be corrected quickly. *** After 30 days no adjustments will be considered.

Engine:
Open to ALL Street legal and Non-Street legal Sportster Motorcycle Engines.

Fuel:
Gasoline, alcohol and nitrous allowed. No propylene oxide.

Frame:
Any frame for Sportster Engines. Street Legal or Drag Type Frames.   Must pass Tech Inspectors approval for safety.

Suspension:
Front suspension minimum size is factory or larger and minimum travel of 2 inches. Rear suspension is not necessary. Struts allowed.

Ground Clearance:
The motorcycle must have a minimum of 2” ground clearance with rider sitting on the bike.

Brakes:
Brakes: Front and rear recommended.   Disc or Drum ok but must be good working order.

Controls:
Handlebar controls must be located in safe, workable position. Foot pegs and foot controls must be located in safe, workable position and must be mounted in a safe, craftsman-like manner. All controls must meet or exceed OEM equipment standards. Snap-back throttle return is mandatory.

Body:
Stock OEM fenders and gas tank, or custom fenders and gas tank are allowed but must be mounted and constructed in a safe, craftsman-like manner.

Chain Guards / Belt Guards:
Yes Chain Guards are required on all bikes entered.   We know there are some who dont want to run a Chain Guard for whatever reason. Its your leg its your call.

Ignition:
Any ignition system is allowed. Computers: only data gathering computers allowed.
Must have a working Kill Switch.   Street Legal Motorcycles. NO – Delay boxes, Electronic Throttle Stops and Auto Shift devices.

Lights:
D.O.T. approved light system. Hi-low beam, taillight and brake light must work.

Transmission:
Can run any stock or after market transmission.   Can use any clutch.   Belt drives are legal. Rear wheel drives may consist of any ratios and materials..

Clutch:
Aftermarket slider clutches prohibited.   Clutch Engagement and disengagement must be controlled by conventional cable or hydraulic ‐ actuated clutch lever. With the engine off and the bike in gear, the clutch must have sufficient engagement force to prevent the bike from being rolled without either sliding the rear tire or rotating the engine. With the brakes locked or the bike otherwise blocked from rolling, the clutch system must have sufficient engagement force at idle to kill the engine if the clutch lever is released. Idle may be set between1500 ‐ 2000rpm for this test. The use of ECU mapping or electrical system functions to simulate the positive results of this test is not allowed, engine kill must be as a direct result of clutch engagement drag.

Tires:
DOT street tires only are permitted.   DOT slicks are permitted.

Wheelie Bars;
Wheelie bars are permitted with Slicks.

Body:
Stock OEM fenders and gas tank, or custom fenders and gas tank are allowed but must be mounted and constructed in a safe, craftsman-like manner. Shells are legal. Rear fender must cover the width of the rear tire and extend beyond the vertical centerline of the rear axle.

Fairing – Allowed.

Seat:
Stock OEM or seat with a step to prevent the rider from sliding backwards. (All motorcycles must have a seat)

Tech:
All motorcycles must pass tech before practice. Motorcycle, rider and their protective gear must pass tech. Tech official will have final say on any unclear rule or equipment.

We Recommend — ALL Riders should have a SNELL 95 or higher full face helmet, shoes above the ankle, (NO Teeny Shoes) Leather Gloves, and a Leather Jacket. Any rider running faster than 10.99 must also have leather pants. Pants and Jacket are not required to be zipped together. *** Nylon or textile jackets and pants are not permitted, even if they have pads. All jackets and pants must be made of 100% leather
